About Mandarin Airlines

 

Mandarin Airlines was established on June 1, 1991, mainly for operating direct flights from Taipei to Canada's Vancouver, Australia's Sydney and Brisbane in the beginning.

On August 8, 1999, Mandarin Airlines merged with Formosa Airlines, thus became an Airlines that runs regional short-haul international route and domestic route. China Airlines is its parent company and owns 96.96% shareholding. This makes Mandarin Airlines a majority-owned subsidiary of China Airlines.

Mandarin Airlines always emphasized on flight safety and comfortable flight service. We have received the 1992 citation of meritorious service from the Australian Civil Aviation Board in 1992. In April 1996 we were granted the first ISO-9002 certification for in-flight service in Taiwan and then successfully awarded with ISO-9002 includes flight operation, maintenance operation, flight safety, operational control, passenger service, ground handling and cargo service in 2000. In 2003, Mandarin Airlines has been awarded with ISO9001 year-2000-edition certificate.

Gyrfalcon was chosen as the business mark of Mandarin Airlines when the airline was first formed. Gyrfalcon as our company logo is to indicate that "once we take flight, we fly a thousand miles" and its spirit of strong endeavors when facing various situations.

Mandarin Airlines received GOLDEN WING AWARDs for airline excellent safety and flight service performance from Taiwan’s Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) both in 2003 and 2015. This award represents the carrier’s excellent domestic operations, outperforming other Taiwan-based domestic carriers within this market in Innovation of Passenger Services, Internet e-Service and Support of Charity Activities.

Mandarin Airlines is a member of IATA(International Air Transport Association) and serves a domestic network of major cities and outlying islands as Taipei-Sungshan, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Kinmen, Matsu, Penghu, Taitung and Hualien. In addition to this, Mandarin also serves destinations in Asia from/to Taichung, including Hong Kong, Ho Chi Ming City and cities in China.
