Mandarin Airlines' New President Chen, Min Tang

¡@¡@Mandarin Airlines held its sixth time of the seventh interim board meeting on 16 January 2009 and Mr. Min Tang, Chen was unanimously elected new President of Mandarin Airlines. The present Chairman and President Harris Wang will focus on the duty as Chairman of Mandarin Airlines. China Airlines' Chairman Philip Wei announced this news in the following ceremony after the meeting. Chairman Wei said, ¡§It's my great pleasure to announce the new President of Mandarin Airlines and in accord with the breakthrough of cross strait direct flights, China Airlines will work closely with Mandarin Airlines to meet the best interest for both parties. Chairman Wang has done a great job as both Chairman and President of Mandarin Airlines, and now with the assistance of President Chen, I am confident that Mandarin Airlines will have a great breakthrough under the excellent leadership of Wang and Chen.¡¨ Chairman Harris Wang said happily, ¡§I am personally very grateful to China Airlines' appointing Chen, such an experienced and outstanding expert in corporate management, as the President of Mandarin Airlines, and we have strong confidence in him to bring good changes to Mandarin Airlines in the year of ox. The new President Chen said with sincere tone, ¡¨Thank you for your full support, I will bear in mind the ultimate interests of our corporate and work hand in hand with our colleagues in Mandarin Airlines. I have great confidence that with the team work of Mandarin Airlines, we can achieve our aim to turn into profitable with all our efforts.¡¨ President Chen, Min Tang, joining China Airlines in 1971, has some 38 years of experience in airlines business. He first worked as a sales rep in Kaohsiung branch office, and then became the District Manger of Okinawa, Fukuoka, Kaohsiung, Thailand and Director of North East Asia branch office as well as Chairman of Taiwan Airport Services Co. Ltd. He served as President of Taiwan District and Taipei branch office of China Airlines from November 2005 till now.

Mandarin Airlines charter flight from Kaohsiung to Shanghai took off on Dec. 20th 2008.

¡@¡@ On December 20 th 2008, Mandarin A irlines started its new flight to Shanghai from Kaohsiung. The first flight on flight number AE7211 depart ed from Kaohsiung I nternational A irport at 7:30 am . Chairman Harris W. Y. Wang of Mandarin A irlines was in to Kaohsiung Airport to see the first flight off on this remarkable day .
