Mandarin Airlines launched its inaugural flight with the 265-seat Airbus A340-300 to Beijing from Taoyuan International Airport at 10:50AM on September 30th. Every passenger received a practical souvenir as the gift to celebrate the inaugural flight. The chairman of Mandarin Airlines, Michael Lo & the president Harris H. Y. Wang were also on this Mid-Autumn Festival charter flight which landed at Beijing Capital International Airport at 2:30PM on the same day. Director and deputy director of Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office in General Administration of Civil Aviation of China as well as Air China held a welcome ceremony which many honorable guests and media people attended. This plane flied back from Beijing at 4PM and arrived in Taiwan at 7:55PM. Mandarin Airlines also cooperated with China Airline for the Mid-Autumn Festival charter flight to Shanghai on October 7th.
